The Wichita Eagle and KPTS – Channel 8 Team Up to Host Democratic Gubernatorial Debate

WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita Eagle and KPTS – Channel 8 have teamed up to host the Kansas.com – KPTS – Channel 8 Democratic Gubernatorial Debate ahead of the Aug. 7, primary election.
Journalists Pilar Pedraza and Kirk Seminoff, and Russell Fox, professor of political science
at Friends University, will question the five candidates on a wide range of issues in a prerecorded, unrestricted debate. Viewers will have the opportunity to ask questions via Facebook Live at
7 p.m. on July 17 on The Wichita Eagle’s Facebook page — @wichitaeagle. The debate will air on KPTS-Channel 8 at 8 p.m., July 19.
Democratic candidates scheduled to participate include Arden Anderson, Jack Bergeson, Carl Brewer, Laura Kelly and Josh Svaty.
The debate will be hosted by former news anchor Susan Peters.
