McPherson Quilt Guild to meet Oct. 12

During this pandemic, we are endeavoring to take care of our community. If you have the means to back us through a subscription or a gift subscription for someone else, we appreciate your support.

McPherson Quilt Guild will welcome Lisa Conner of Wichita to our regular guild meeting on Monday, October 12 at 7:00p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in McPherson. Lisa is the state coordinator and Wichita District Coordinator for the Quilt of Valor Foundation.

A Quilt of Valor is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. The Quilt says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.” To be a Quilt of Valor, the quilt must be a specific size, must have a label with required information and awarded – it is not a gift – and it must be recorded.

Quilters love to share our talents and recognize important events in one’s life. A Quilt of Valor is so very appropriate to recognize and award service members as we recognize the people that have served our country.

McPherson Quilt Guild is a 30 plus year organization which welcomes all levels of quilters. Everyone is invited to our meetings on the second Monday of the month. At this time, masks are encouraged. Please call Cheri’ Hanschu, guild president for more information at 620-242-9090.
