McPHERSON—Many people have fond memories of enjoying picnics as a child. One McPherson couple firmly believes picnics and memory-making shouldn’t end with childhood.

In fact, their new business, Prairie Picnics, takes the work out of preparing a picnic, giving you more time to just enjoy the experience and make memories to last a lifetime.

Bri and Jason Toler of McPherson launched Prairie Picnics, a luxury picnic business, earlier this month. The couple offers a number of different picnics to meet every budget. Whether you are looking for a romantic picnic for two or a fun picnic the whole family can enjoy, they have an option.

“We value our family and our family time,” Bri Toler said. “And we want other families to be able to enjoy time with their family, too. We do family fun nights, and this is something we would do with our kids.”

There are currently five picnic packages to choose from. All of the packages include set up and tear down of the picnic, with each package featuring unique additions. The romantic connection package, called Midsummer Nights Dream, is a romantic picnic for two. It includes a seasonal charcuterie board, string lights, Bluetooth speaker, all blankets, pillows, tables and decor.

Romeo and Juliet is what the Tolers consider their classic picnic. It includes a basket with sandwiches and fresh fruits to share and one add-on option. If you would like to have more individual input in the picnic process, As You Like It would be a perfect fit. This package includes all the traditional picnic necessities, but you build your custom picnic from the fare and add ons available.

All’s Well is the package that every little girl dreams of: a luxury tea party for 10 guests. It includes all the dishes, teas and cake. There are also string lights and plenty of decorations.

“Little girls are who we had in mind with this,” Bri Toler said. “It would be fun for birthday parties and would make memories for all the guests.”

If you want to enjoy the picnic but don’t need all the fanfare, the Tolers have you covered with the Mini Picnic. They will do the setup for you and take care of the clean-up. But you bring your own food, drinks and any other items you may like.

In addition to the picnic packages, there are add ons available to make your picnic even more memorable. Add ons include things like yard games and painting.

Part of the picnic fun comes from the luxury feel of a Prairie Picnic. Gone are the days of a simple blanket on the ground. The Tolers provide a set up complete with a small table, fluffy pillows and blankets, glassware and delectable food. Food can be customized for dietary needs and the time of day your picnic will occur. It could include a charcuterie board, sandwiches, fresh fruit, or brunch fare.

Picnics can be arranged at any public location or a private location as long as permission is granted to enter. Some popular locations include Lakeside Park, Wall Park and the Old Mill in Lindsborg.

“We can explore and find you something different, or we can even set up in your backyard if you want,” Bri Toler said.

To schedule your Prairie Picnic, contact the Tolers via their website at https://www.prairiepicnics.com/, email at prairiepicnics4u@gmail.com or call 720-404-2997. They are happy to help you find the right picnic package for your needs and budget.

“Memories is what we are hoping for,” Bri Toler said. “Helping people create those special moments to remember.”
