Free meals for children in McPherson

During this pandemic, we are endeavoring to take care of our community. If you have the means to back us through a subscription or a gift subscription for someone else, we appreciate your support.

Beginning March 23 an alternate feeding plan for USD 418 will begin. Thursday afternoon McPherson Public Schools released information about the Nutrition Services Food Plan to be implemented by USD 418 Nutrition Services.
Food Service Director Bill Froese says the plan will provide an opportunity for families to pick up a lunch and breakfast through the walk up or drive-thru meal service for children ages one to 18.

“We will start meal service on Monday, March 23rd and operate until further notice,” Froese said. “Meals will be served at the following locations from 11:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., Monday-Friday.”

• McPherson Middle School – 700 E. Elizabeth, McPherson, KS (South Side).
• Roosevelt Elem. School – 800 S. Walnut, McPherson, KS (West Side).
• Lincoln Elem. School – 900 N. Ash, McPherson, KS (West Side).

All children will receive lunch for the day and breakfast for the next. These meals will be available for all children ages one through 18 regardless of what school they attend. No paperwork is required. Children must be present in order for meals to be provided. Meals will be provided based on the number of children present.
This program will only be for the pick up of meals, and meals will not be consumed on-site. At this time we will not be offering adult meals.
