Food service change announced by USD 418

McPHERSON—Beginning on April 21, USD 418 will be allowing parents or guardians to pick up a meal permit for their children’s meals.

This meal permit will allow a parent to pick up the number of meals on your permit without your children needing to be in the car. Beginning April 21, the number given on the permit will be based on the number of children in the vehicle when the permit is issued.

This means, in order for all children in your household to receive a meal, you must bring all of them on the day you pick up your permit. Once you receive your permit, then you will just need to have the permit with you when you arrive to pick up meals and show the staff on duty. The number on the permit is how many meals will be distributed to you.

“You are still welcome to bring your children with you, as we do enjoy seeing them,” the district said on their website. “We are hoping allowing families to pick up meals without children will help limit the risk of exposure for both families and our staff. Stay well. Stay safe.”

Breakfast and lunch are served from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Monday through Friday at McPherson Middle School, Roosevelt and Lincoln Elementary Schools.

Dinner is served from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday at Washington Elementary School.
