Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Sherry has been involved in art since the age of eight. As an adult she primarily works in fibers and oil painting…..also glass and steel, and alchohol inks. Sherry has a great curiosity about materials and how they work with what she does as an artist. Sherry currently teaches classes at Mrs. O’Learys in Wichita. She belongs to Wichita Women Artists, a group of local artists with a great history.
Sherry loves teaching and enjoys a great variety of materials and developing a way of making art recognizable to everyone.
Sherry was an Art teacher for 33 years in public education and private instructing continues.
Team leader for 14 years over all exploratory teachers.
Served on a select committee for state and local art standards.
Served as a cooperating teacher for student teachers for 16 years.
