LGBTQ+ Pride March

The LGBTQ + Pride March will take place on June 26. The march will start on Euclid from McPherson College circle drive and will end at the Lakeside Park Band shell, where there will be speakers and food vendors. It is requested that the public maintain social distancing and wear masks at the event. 


Moundridge Blood Drive

The Moundridge Community Blood Drive is scheduled for Friday June 25 from noon-6 p.m. at the West Zion Mennonite Church at 101 Washington Ave.  For an appointment, call 1-800-733-2767 or visit www.redcrossblood.org and “Moundridge” for the sponsor code.


Movie in the Park

Come watch “Frenemies- The Angry Birds 2 Movie” on June 25 at Lakeside Park Band shell. The movie will start at dark. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and watch a movie under the stars. Sponsored by Nex-Tech Wireless and the McPherson CVB.’


McPherson Senior Center

The McPherson Senior Center is open and serving Friendship Meals daily. Please call Connie at 241-0160 a day in advance to reserve a meal for $3. The senior center has also returned to regular programming. Come enjoy a cup of coffee, play a game of pool or visit with friends. 


School Board Candidate Forum 

Nine candidates are running for school board. Come meet them as they take part in a question and answer session at 7 p.m., July 15, at the McPherson Opera House. 


Moundridge Food Pantry

The Moundridge Food Pantry is open. The food pantry is open from 5-6 p.m. on Tuesdays, 3-5 p.m. on Thursdays and 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturdays. The food pantry is located at the Senior Citizens Center, 100 N. Schmidt Ave. The door is on the west side of the building. 


McPherson County Farmers Market 

The market is held from 7:30 a.m.-noon every Saturday morning through Oct. 30. The market will take place in the Blue Roundtop, 600 W. Woodside. Eggs, flowers, produce, baked goods, meat and much more.


Annual Meeting

The McPherson County Council on Aging will hold the 2021 annual meeting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, at the Moundridge Senior Center located at 100 N. Schmidt St., Moundridge. The annual general meeting will include the approval of the appointment of the 2021-2022 board members. The board of directors meeting will follow and include the elections of officers for the 2021-2022 board. The public is invited to attend. All residents of McPherson County who are age 60 years and up are eligible to vote in the general meeting.


Concerts for a Cause

Concerts for a Cause will take place at 7 p.m. each Thursday at Hopp’s Sno Shack, 214 E. Euclid. On June 24 is Fireworks with a Fireman and Sam Unruh performing. July 8 features Jeremy Hannah, July 15 is Sam Shilts, July 22 is Smoky Valley Blue Grass Band and July 29 is YNOTUS. On Aug. 5, Michelle King is featured and on Aug. 14 is the Back to School Bash, featuring Kyle Killgorg. 


COVID-19 Testing

The McPherson Fire Department is conducting free COVID-19 testing for residents. Symptoms are not required for testing and no doctor’s order is needed. To schedule an appointment for testing, call 245-2505. Testing takes approximately five minutes and results are received in 24-48 hours. 


Virtual Storytime

Every Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m., and Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., children can enjoy Virtual Storytime, hosted by the McPherson Public Library. Registration is required and can be done by going online to www.macpl.libcal.com. Zoom links will be sent out one hour prior to the event. 


Bingo at the American Legion

Bingo is held at the McPherson American Legion every Sunday. The early bird session starts at 2:30 p.m., and regular games begin at 3:15 p.m.
