On Saturday, December 9, at 2:30 pm, the McPherson Opera House will be hosting a Christmas Tea in the seasonally decorated, magically transformed, beautiful Grand Ballroom! What could be more festive than little children asking a real-life Santa for that special gift, singing Christmas Carols, seeing tables set for the holiday season, admiring the Christmas tree adorned with lights and ornaments, tasting buttery and decorated Christmas cookies and gourmet desserts, sipping hot beverages, and dressing in your finest holiday fashion? Gather your family and friends of all ages to ring in the holiday at this extraordinary, unforgettable event. “Our first Christmas tea, held last year, was such a success that immediately after the event our fundraising committee started making plans for the next one,” said Diane Fallis, Opera House Business Director. “It is a Christmas event for adults and children unlike any other. To see the expressions of amazement on the faces of our guests, especially the younger ones, when they first enter the spectacularly decorated ballroom is quite rewarding. That really what makes all of the time and effort that goes into preparing for the event worth it.” In addition to the music, sing-along, and Santa activities, there is a silent auction that offers items for people of all ages. All proceeds from ticket sales and the auction benefit the McPherson Opera House. Tickets are $25 for adults and children age 10 and over, and $12 for children age 9 and under. Seating is limited so don’t wait! Reserve your tickets by calling 620-241-1952.
