The McPherson County Commission approved a 10-year property tax abatement for Archrock Services LP at its Monday meeting.
Mitch Opat, General Manager for Archrock Services LP, 1404 Mohawk Rd., presented a plan for expanding its facility with the addition of a 10,000 sq. ft. facility expansion. The expansion will create three jobs in its first year. Archrock manufactures industrial turbochargers and has operated in McPherson County for about 27 years. The expansion will allow them to reconfigure their current process to not only be more efficient but also take on more work. Opat expects to add seven new positions in the next 10 years and with additional local income of $2.6 million.
According to a Cost Benefit Analysis prepared by the McPherson Industrial Development Corp., net benefits for all of the taxing entities over a 10-year period will be $5,934,907. Total taxes abated will be $255,080.
